Q. How does Speedy charge for MSA’s
A. Speedy offers a fixed price for all Medicare Set-Aside Arrangements so you don’t have to worry about evaluating the complexity of the injury when requesting our services.
Q. What information is needed when an MSA is requested?
A. The following documents are needed to all Speedy to accurately project future medical costs:
a. First Report of Injury (FROI)
b. Medical records regarding initial treatment following the injury
c. Medical records for the last 2-3 years
d. Independent Medical Examinations (IME’s)
e. Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI) andPercentage of Impairment (PIR) documents
f. CMS/Social Security documentation
g.Claims Payout
h. Prescription/DME records from PBM
i. Current physician’s medical report
Q. Do you need information other than medical records?
A. No. Speedy is interested only in the medical records for purposes in establishing future medical costs.
Q. What is your normal turnaround time? A. Once we receive all pertinent documents and a Rated Age if there are other conditions that may affect life expectancy, our allocations experts can complete the MSA within 7 days. If a RUSH is required, Speedy will offer this service at no additional charge to the client.
Q. Are there other services that could be of value when completing an MSA?
A. The largest single cost driver in many MSA’s is the medication component. To alleviate the added cost, Speedy utilizes pharmacy experts to review the medication regimen and make recommendations that leverage generic utilization where possible, limit utilization when multiple medications are being taken for the same therapeutic purpose, and utilize extended days supply/home delivery options for both DME and medications to reduce the dollar amount of the allocation. Speedy also takes into account Medicare’s deductible and copy requirements for the claimant.
